The first weekend of December, saw Seido karateka from around NZ descend on Christchurch for their annual camp, including 3 Kyoshi, 10 Sensei, 1 Nidan, and many kyu grading candidates. While some tremors were felt, none were GNS reported, so we’ll put them down to the fun the grading candidates must have been having.
True to Seido tradition, the midnight classes were attended with enthusiasm (noted in particular by the carpet burns many of us managed to incur). Wood chopping was a highlight for many of the younger attendees, proudly taking their hand chopped firewood home. The refreshments at the bar on the way back to the airport sure tasted extra good. And so ended Christchurch camp #44.
Anyone keen to kick off next summer with a weekend trip out of town meeting students from all over NZ, Christchurch camp #45 is on the first week of December 2017.
