
So the curry has been eaten and the results are in… Seido Auckland’s Curry-Ate night was a roaring success with six entrants… 2 in the herbivore category and 4 in the carnivore category. There was much sweating over the stove, here is a photo of Em grinding the paste in the traditional manner (with swimming goggles)
There were even ethnic snacks from one of the judges Caroline Ogilvie…
And then the judging was on… all six curries beautifully presented with side dishes, with each chef vying for top points with colourful descriptions of exotic ingredients and hard work.
And without further ado, here are the final scores:
So as you can see, the winner in the Herbivore section was Sensei Julie’s Vege Tempeh & Kawakawa and the winner in the Carnivore section was Hazel Cook’s Not Butter Chicken. With Hazel’s points taking out overall winner on the night!
So the trophy goes home with the Mercer/Cooks to contested again soon!
