World Seido Karate Organisation

“My purpose in founding Seido Karate was to show what I feel is the true essence, the kernel of true karate-do: the training of body, mind, and spirit together in order to realize the fullness of human potential.” – Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura

The World Seido Karate Organization headquarters were opened in New York City on October 15, 1976 by Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura, who has committed more than 50 years of his life to the study, practice, and teaching of the martial arts.  New Zealand soon followed, opening Seido Karate dojos in Christchurch and Nelson – which still run today.  There are now Seido Karate clubs on five continents, all linked to the World Seido Organisation.

If you are working away from home or on holiday close to the local Seido dojo anywhere in the world, then your Auckland membership entitles you to free classes at that dojo. Likewise, we warmly welcome visitors from the global Seido family to visit us should they come to our great city.
